Hi, I'm Betsy

The mountains have always felt like home to me. I spent my childhood in the San Juan mountains, where the quiet, solitude, and vastness felt like a place I belonged.

In some of my hardest moments, after losing my boyfriend in a car accident and the loss of my mother, I returned to the mountains. They held space for my grief and became a place of deep healing.

Photography grew from that connection. I began photographing landscapes, chasing moments of sublime beauty, traveling the world to capture them. But in the end, I found myself drawn back home, to the San Juan mountains because nothing compares.

When I started photographing weddings, I quickly realized large, traditional weddings didn’t reflect the kind of love I believed in. They often felt like performances, heavy, exhausting, disconnected from the heart of what a wedding should be.

In the mountains, it’s different. There’s a quiet reverence there. When couples elope in these spaces, their love feels honest, unfiltered, deeply present, and just for each other.

That’s why I do what I do. I create space for couples to slow down, to be fully present, and to experience the solitude of the mountains on one of the most important days of their lives.

I know choosing a photographer is a big decision. If you’re looking for someone who will care about your day as deeply as you do, you’re in the right place.

Now I get to help couples elope in a way that is true to them in the places that I love.

I have the privilege of guiding couples like you into these beautiful mountains where you can be fully present in the moment, and surrounded in beauty.

To me, these mountains have been my peace and my healing. I love being able to bring couples into these places that feel like home and into this deep quiet to be witness to the beginning of their lives together.

Documenting your wedding in these places that I have such a connection to is more than just elopement photography to me. It is an awesome responsibility and an honor. I approach these moments with a joyful heart and an intentionality to honor the beauty and significance of the day.

You deserve to say your vows in a place that feels right to you and to work with someone who understands the importance of the day.

what I believe in

Non Judgement, All Love

Because an elopement day should be a day where you where your love, no matter what it looks like is captured by a person who is genuinely interested in making your dream a reality.

Nature Heals Things

Because it does, our wild lands are places where we feel whole and where we finally feel like we can be ourselves.  There is no performance needed, just your wedding day and the significance of your commitment to one another.

I'm Poundcake

Not chocolate cake with lots of frosting. There isn't anything flashy about me, just home-grown, down-home simple, and a little sweet. I may not look flashy on social media but I am committed to you and your elopement day because it doesn't matter what I look like, it matters how you feel.

I Love What I Do

Elopement photography isn't a whim for me or something I am trying out, this is my heart and my soul. I put everything I have into creating this moment for you because it reminds me that love is real. There is beauty in seeing love be real and witnessing that firsthand.

From the moment we met her, it felt like we had known her forever, she brought such a calming, fun energy that made our elopement day even more special. She captured every moment so naturally while also making us laugh and feel completely ourselves. Somewhere along the way, she stopped being “just our photographer” and became a real friend we still keep in touch with.
